Buddakan

It was first time going there the ramen was delicious. The noodles were cooked to a great texture, the broth was a little on the thick side but it was filling and had a wonderful flavor and went well with everything. There bulgogi eggs rolls were not bad, they kind of reminded me of a burger in hot dog form but still delicious. 10/10 would go again.

Really good and really spicy! The wait is insane--up to several hours, but it lives up to the hype.The chicken sandwich is spicy, so be prepared for what you're ordering! The medium leaves some people sweating, so hot is even spicier. It comes with good coleslaw and buttered bread. The contrast of flavors is so delicious.

This place is top notch from appearance all the way to the food. Our server made sure we were well tended to but gave us the space to enjoy our time together. If you're planning a date night this should make the short list of places to go. I would definitely make a reservation being this place is very popular. I look forward to returning again....

I ordered the duck breast that are the duck breast was very chewy it wasn't cooked well for me I didn't like it also it came with the solid that was very bitter it also it came with some type of cake a sponge cake of a sorts but the consistency was like throw-up it was very nasty off-putting the only thing that I really did enjoy was the dumplings that I ordered those that was my appetizer. The ambiance of the place is very nice but for me the food wasn't good at all

Excellent, but over priced. Not worthy of 5 stars but if I could give a half star would be 4.5. Waiter was a bit pushy and kept telling us what he liked, if I wanted his opinion I would have asked. He was a bit intrusive through out our dinner. We otherwise had a great table upstairs over looking the dining room.

Great place to bring a date! They cut the meat right in front of you and make sure it never goes cold. For those who love fish they make a delishumust! Sea Bass. For veggie lovers - probably the best open salad bar in the land! Wine Not Monday's! Really a new treat ! Can't wait to go back.

Nice experience for my first time. Food was good and different, not something I've experienced before. If you're around during Philly's Restaurant week you should definitely put this place on your list.

Nice place to enjoy yummy food. Atmosphere was great. The hubs took me here for my birthday. I would def recommend. Just an FYI make reservations before coming here. He made reservations so we did not have to wait, but there was quit a few people standing waiting to be seated.The veggie rice with coconut foam was deeeelish! Cured cauliflower was yummy too. I would and def will come back. A lot of food is given out so it is worth going and enjoying a meal for any occasion.

Highly recommendedThe food is extraordinary, the bar is a fun place to hang out. The service is friendly and efficient. A bit noisy, but so are most restaurants. A bit on the expensive side, so we go there for special occasions (but we seem to have a lot of them!)

The tasting menu is incredible. The flavors and textures are just perfection in the calamari salad, the monkfish, and the beef chow fun. Pair it with a sake flight!

My wife and I had dinner here on December 26th and we did enjoy our dinner. Dinner was not quite as good as our previous visits but was still a very nice dinner with a nice atmosphere. I am writing this review not because of the dinner but because my credit card numbers were stolen after we had dinner here. The waiter walked off with my CC before returning for my signature. The next day, I received notice from the CC company that my card had been stolen. I had not used my card at any other places during those couple of days. Beware...

Consistency of this place is insane. Lamb chops are amazing. Everything is also amazing. Great experience every time.

Best restaurant week I have enjoyed in years. The dumplings were a great portion enough to share,the entree was a huge piece of sea Bass and the dessert was light and just enough. It was excellent for 35 dollars.

What a special place ! Even if you’re in Philly for less than 24 hours, you better stop here at Buddakan! And make sure you ask for a seat near the ever-present guest-of-honor, Friendly Giant Buddha! Desert has different dipping sauces !!

Literally love this place to death. Their edamame dumplings are amazing, tuna tartare spring rolls were good and the best part is the aged steak

The food was delicious! The ambiance was great. Service was also outstanding!

Food is great - however service is very slow. Most of our party was on their lunch break & went over their hour lunch time. Had get dessert to go because they took so long. In fact everytime we've gone service has been really slow & we have gone when it was restaurant week. We will return but if they could find a way to spend up service that would be a huge plus!

Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. Nothing but enjoyable experiences here. Prices are appropriate for the quality.

The atmosphere is better than the food.... The food is lacking creativity and the high level taste that the price tag suggests. You can compare the flavor to that of a frozen P.F. Cheng's meal. Your local take-out Asian food place has better tasting food. If you care about atmosphere then this is your place.

Christmas at Buddakan was wonderful. The food was outstanding as well as our waiter.

Perfect place for brunch and catching up with friends. Very friendly atmosphere. The seating is interesting, you get your food and find the seat that suits you at a bar or table. I had the French toast with coffee and it was very delicious and spongy. The whole taste was amazing. Highly recommend

This owner deserves some awards. Excellent experience every single time, visited four times, so far. When I am in Philadelphia, this is my must visit. Just excellent! Thank you Buddakan team for making me fall in like of your restaurant. I am hooked. Can I find you in other cities?

My 1st time. It's pricey, but is absolutely worth it! Everything ordered was tremendous, delicious beyond expectation. I never thought I would leave Phila. & crave a calamari salad! Also best steak I have ever eaten. I can't wait to go again!

Excellent setting. Restaurant doesn't feel tight, yet has your dining experience feeling like an intimate moment. Food is quite good. I would recommend trying at least their Dim Sum. Portions are reasonable. It's a bit on the pricier side for dining in old City, but it's well worth it. Also, bonus points for having a 10 foot tall Buddha.

We had reservations and it's a good thing as the wait would have been long. Larry was our waiter and gave excellent tips about the menu and provided great service. The food was outstanding as everything came out of the kitchen hot and delicious. If we had time, we would have gone to lunch the next day...I definitely would make reservations at Buddakan when in Philadelphia

Food was amazing the duck wings full of flavor the sea bass was very delicate yet delicious and the crispy shrimp were scrumptious!! The decor and atmosphere is very chic!

I love the food here, the ambience is so nice and relaxing dark lit, it can be tough to take nice pics of the food, but the food is so delicious it's worth it, the crab sticky rice is so good, actually all of their food is. Can't go wrong going to eat here, expect to bring a decent amount of money if you want to try a few things from the menu since it is a more upscale type place.

Great food. In fact it was so good, I forgot to take photos of the food. 🤭 Anyways, the soup dumplings was our favorite part. We had 3 orders brought to the table. The rest was just as amazing. Thanks guys for making my wife's birthday special!

One of my favs. Great selection for Vegas and carnivores. Donuts for dessert are MARVELOUS!!

One of our absolute favorites restaurants of all time. It doesn't matter how many times we eat here, the food is ALWAYS outstanding! The atmosphere is so much fun and the FOOD! Drinks are good, food is top notch, and the desserts! You MUST try the Crispy Calamari Salad, Dim Sum, the Sea Bass, and the Dip Sum Donuts!! I could just eat the donuts and still be in heaven.

Went for restaurant week....I had chicken and ginger dumplings...they were delicious...I had sea bass with green beans...it was perfection...donuts for dessert with ginger sauce and chocolate sauce and a whipped cream they were amazing ...highly recommended..dont miss out

My man and I went this past Tuesday I wasn't to fond of one of the hostess, but other than that the restaurant was very nice. The two of us ate for about $200.00. It was well worth it the food was delicious the atmosphere was awesome.Our waiter was spot on with the menu and how the dishes were prepared.

Went during restaurant week. The service was good and the staff were friendly, but that is all that Buddakan had going for it. The ambiance was not good, the food, while the ingredients tasted fresh the sauce used ruined it. The Dip Sum doughnuts tasted good, but nothing special.

Had a reservation for 8:30 PM last night and ended up being 20 minutes late. Walked in and the place was extremely packed. I told the hostess my situation and instead of telling me to kick rocks they advised that they would work my party and I back into the rotation without hesitation. Waited about 15-20 minutes at the bar until we were ready to be seated. Bartenders were extremely nice and helpful. This place was an all around great vibe. Food couldn't get any better. This was actually my first time here so I was impressed.

A great place to visit in old city! I hadnt been to this hot spot in over a decade and was unsure if they would still be up to their once excellent standards. I am happy to report we had a great experience. Fun interior, very knowledgeable and friendly server, great food. We had the dim sum sampler, please order the snow peas for the table, I can't stop thinking about them, smoky, salty, fresh and crunchy with garlic, ginger, just delicious. Entrees were all beautifully presented, generous in portion, and all perfectly shareable for everyone at the table. Try and save room for dessert, their selections are all made in house and offer something for everyone from the more conservative in your group to the most adventurous! If you are visiting the old city area, this is a must stop spot!
